Create a Blog!

Your blog will be used throughout the year as an online notebook or journal of your work. Through out the year, you will be frequently posting your work, and reflections of it on your blog.

Does this sound like a daunting task? Lets get you started.

First! Follow the directions in this link.

PDF: Assignment: Blog Creation

At this point, your blog should be created, you should have a post in it, and you should have emailed your blog url to your instructor. In your first post, please also include a reflection on the 'Computer Hunt' / scavenger hunt and the survey results.

Second! Follow these guidelines.

Blog Entry: Creating Your Blog: Tips and Pointers

Very important! Make sure you're protecting your identity! Did you have to change your url to protect your identity? If so, make sure you email your instructor with the new url. Your computer hunt should now also be posted in your blog as a page (not just a regular post!).

Third! Complete your Blog!

PDF: Blog Rubric

Using just the template doesn't make your blog very special or unique. In the design tab, customize your blog by changing your background, color scheme, and gadgets. Customizing your blog is part of your grade, make sure you pay attention to the rubric. Did you notice the commenting section? Blogs aren't just about the creator talking to themselves. Don't forget to comment on others. Its part of your grade too!

Forth! Read the post below!

Blog Entry: Avatars

Play with both avatar websites. Afterwards, use one as a gadget on your blog. After completing this step, you should have your second post. What goes in it? I guess you didn't read the link about avatars did you?

Fifth and Final! Double Check!

Go through the Rubric and make sure your blog meets the criteria needed to make the grade you want. There are eight categories, and up to four points in each one; a total of thirty two points. Read the category on the left side, then move tile by tile to the right to see which tile your blog fits in. Doing this, you can get a good idea what grade you'll make.

What would I get?

Check the rubric before you finish!

Don't be disappointed,
Earn the grade you want!
