Some customizations cost money. I do NOT expect anyone to pay for their customizations, there are plenty of free ones to come up with something you are happy with.

Play with both avatar sites. In today's post discuss and compare the two. Can you hotlink the two avatar sites in your post? Give it a try. In addition, see if you can find out the origin of the term avatar. Can you hotlink your source?

Once you've made an avatar your happy with (on either site), make it a gadget on your blog. In order to do this, you'll have to open the design tab in blogger's dashboard. Once there you'll need to add a gadget, click add a gadget then choose the html gadget. You'll have to copy the html code for your avatar from the site you made it onto into the gadget window that popped up in blogger.

Last 5-10 minutes of class: Today's blog post should include a reflection on the customization of your blog and the creation of your avatar.

Creating Your Blog: Tips and Pointers

1. Make sure your Blog's color scheme is legible. Text should contrast enough with the background to keep it easy to read.

2. Keep it professional; use spell check and be mindful of your grammar. Also, avoid slang.

3. Protect your identity. Avoid posting content that could aid a stranger finding you. This includes information like your name, your school, where you live, pictures of you, etc.

4. Your first post should be a reflection on the 'Computer Hunt' scavenger hunt, the survey results we looked at, and setting up your blog.

5. Uploading your Computer Hunt: When you click new post, if you look above the text box it says edit pages. Click there, and create a new page. You can copy and paste your computer hunt here. Your image of your screen capture probably won't open. You might have to retake it and upload it.

6. If you haven't already, don't forget to email me your blog url.

7. If your in Multimedia, this will be your first project grade. Make sure you follow the rubric to earn the grade you desire.
