Once again, you are welcome to deviate from what the tutorial has you create. You can use different letters, colors, etc; just so long as I can see you were able to use each tool in each step. Don't forgot to cite any photos or images you use (stock photography or public domain only).

While the tutorial is step-by-step; not everything is pictured. If you don't read the text that accompanies the steps, you will get stuck or confused. You'll need to export what you finish as a jpg, png, or gif to be able to upload it onto your blog.

2) Read the next post, make sure you've done what you need to for the first progress report.


3) Lastly, start working in Adobe Project Rome

Adobe's Project Rome is already on your computer, you'll just need to search for 'Rome' using the magnify glass in the upper right.

Follow the Adobe 'Getting Started' Tutorial. While the tutorial is step-by-step; not everything is pictured. If you don't read the text that accompanies the steps, you will get stuck or confused.

Once complete, it should be a flash file. Since you can't upload flash files to your blog, just double click the finished file, and once it loads up into Adobe Flash, just screenshot it and upload that as proof of its completion.

For our first digital imagery project, you will create four computer icons. The four icons will be the four stages of the design cycle:
Investigate
Plan
Create
Evaluate

What is an Icon? If you are not familiar with icons, do some research. You are probably already very used to seeing icons all the time. We use them probably most frequently on computers and smart phones. Looking for more sources? Check out A Brief History of Icons. You will need to come up with four different plans (or sketches) of what you might want your icons to look like. We will begin learning the software we will create them in next class. For now, just come up with ideas.
